Michel Deschapelles is a Managing Director in our Miami office, focusing on the Technology and Telecommunications Practice. He offers our clients a distinctive combination of deep executive search expertise with an extensive business experience, having led enterprises in both growth and turn around environments.
As a talent consultant for the past eight years, most notably at Egon Zehnder, Michel has pioneered several initiatives that included helping clients across sectors and functions specially focused on their transformation and diversity efforts. Michel has conducted thousands of executive-level candidate assessments resulting in a clear track record of success in evaluation, selection and placement of top talent. In addition, his work has earned him a reputation in the market as an expert on how to effectively manage changing team dynamics and diversity.
Earlier, Michel had a distinguished ten year career at Lucent Technologies (now Alcatel-Lucent) where he held several leadership positions including President of Lucent Central America, Venezuela, and Caribbean. He also held global roles as the Director of New Business Development and Sales for Lucent’s Worldwide Services organization. Michel led strategic projects during all phases of Lucent’s global business, and his efforts there leading complex groups are featured in the best-selling book Primal Leadership by Daniel Goleman. Before joining Lucent, Michel served as the Systems Officer for the Republic National Bank of New York in Miami (now HSBC). There he led the information technology function and implemented systems and organizational changes. Michel began his professional career on Wall Street as a Financial Analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston Limited.
