ALLIANCE FOR BOARD DIVERSITY RELEASES NEW INSIGHTS FROM “MISSING PIECES” REPORT

January 30, 2020

Technology, media and communications, and life sciences and healthcare are the sectors that are leading the way in boardroom diversity, according to new analysis by the Alliance for Board Diversity from its January 2019-issued report, “Missing Pieces: The 2018 Board Diversity Census of Women and Minorities on Fortune 500 Boards.”

The report, a biannual effort between the ABD and Deloitte, also recorded that the number of Fortune 500 companies with greater than 40 percent of board members who are women and/or minorities has nearly tripled since 2010. The new analysis comes at the same time that Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon has announced the firm will no longer handle IPOs for companies that do not have at least one diverse member on their boards.

Founded in 2004, the Alliance for Board Diversity is a collaboration of four national leadership organizations. Diversified Search is a founding partner of the Alliance and serves as its adviser and facilitator.
