Managing Director

Molly Brennan is a Managing Director at Diversified Search, and is the co-leader of the firm’s Education, Nonprofit, and Arts and Culture Practice. She also serves as the Founding Partner and Executive Vice President at Koya Leadership Partners, which was acquired by Diversified Search in 2019 and is now included in The Diversified Search Group, a portfolio of wholly-owned boutique search firms serving specialized sectors.

At Diversified Search, Brennan works with co-Practice Leader Andrew Wheeler to marshal the forces of both firms’ deep experience in the nonprofit and higher education sectors to deliver stellar results for clients.

Brennan joined Koya Leadership Partners in its early years, and today leads a portfolio of CEO, President, Executive Director, and other senior executive searches for mission-driven clients across the country and around the world. Her clients have included Amnesty International USA, Habitat for Humanity, Sierra Club, Drug Policy Alliance, Heising-Simons Foundation, Feed the Truth, and Natural Resources Defense Council, among many others.

Her particular areas of focus include leadership, retention, and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Her thought leadership has been widely quoted and published in leading publications such as Stanford Social Innovation, and Philanthropy News Digest, and Fast Company, as well as by the Society for Human Resource Management.

Brennan began her career as a newspaper reporter, then moved into the online communications space. Prior to joining Koya, she served as an Editor at LifeWorks, one of the nation’s leading Employee Assistance Programs, where she partnered with HR leaders to create custom content designed to improve employee engagement and satisfaction. She has served on numerous boards nationally and locally, and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Our Neighbor’s Table, a hunger relief organization in Massachusetts that aims to eliminate food insecurity in the communities it serves. She is currently a member of LeadBoston, a professional leadership program of the YW Boston.

Katie Bouton is the President of Diversified Search, a role she assumed following Diversified Search’s 2019 acquisition of Koya Leadership Partners, where she remains in the role of Founder and CEO. Bouton established Koya in 2004 to recruit talented leaders to mission-driven organizations, guided by a belief that “the right person in the right place can change the world.”

With over 20 years of experience in executive search and organizational development, Bouton has built senior leadership teams at leading national and international organizations and partnered closely with founders, boards, and donors to deepen the impact of today’s most pioneering mission-driven organizations. In addition to executive search, Katie’s areas of focus include leadership development, recruitment and retention best practices, company culture, purpose driven organizations, and diversity initiatives.

Bouton began her career in the public sector as a human resources generalist at the Institute for Teaching and Research on Women and the Women’s Law Center of Maryland. She then moved to the private sector, working as a human resources manager at Edelman Public Relations and ChildrenFirst.

A widely sought-after thought leader around issues of leadership, diversity, and inclusion, Bouton was a finalist for EY’s prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year 2018 New England program, and is a Boston Brava Award Winner from SmartCEO, which recognizes high-impact women business leaders. With a strong commitment to civic and women’s leadership, Bouton serves on numerous boards, and currently serves as Chair of the Board of IGNITE, a bipartisan initiative committed to building the next generation of female political leaders. She also sits on the boards of The Home for Little Wanderers and her alma mater, the College of Liberal Arts at the University of New Hampshire, and serves as a corporator of the Newburyport Bank. In addition, Bouton is a Fellow at Pipeline Angels, a network of new and seasoned women investors that is changing the face of angel investing and creating capital for women social entrepreneurs. She is also a member of the Massachusetts Women’s Forum, a community of top women leaders from all sectors of society.

Managing Director

Matthew Vossler is a Managing Director at the Boston office of Diversified Search, where he serves primarily in the Life Sciences and Healthcare Services Practices. He has completed searches at the CEO and CFO levels, as well as Executive Director and Vice President in a range of therapeutic areas within general management, research and development, commercial operations, regulatory affairs, and technical operations. He also has considerable experience in the nonprofit sector, specifically working with hospitals, universities, and independent research institutes.

Prior to joining Diversified Search, Vossler most recently was a Partner with The RSA Group, a global retained executive search and consulting company with headquarters in London. Before RSA, he was a founding partner of Heritage Partners International and was associated with a number of other search firms, including Heidrick & Struggles. Before entering the field of executive search, Vossler served as President of Home Buyers Assistance Corporation, a relocation management company based in Westport, Connecticut.

In 1987, Vossler co-founded Swim Across America, a nonprofit organization that raises funds for cancer research, treatment, and survivorship programs through a series of open-water swimming events. He currently serves as the organization’s Co-Founder and Board Member. To date, Swim Across America has raised more than $90 million, primarily benefiting Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, UCSF, Massachusetts General, Johns Hopkins University Medical Center, and The Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Molly A. Robb joined Diversified Search in 2018, working primarily in the life sciences sector and with BioQuest, the subsidiary of Diversified Search based in San Francisco.  Robb works closely with healthcare venture capital and private equity firms, along with biopharma and medical technology portfolio companies, to place senior-level talent. She has more than 20 years of search leadership experience within both big box and boutique search firms, recruiting healthcare investment professionals and senior operators for a wide range of emerging and established life sciences companies.

Her clients on the investment side have included corporate venture capital funds, public and private Investment funds, global health, and impact investment funds. On the portfolio side, she has recruited senior leaders for emerging companies and worked with large cap, public life sciences clients. Her clients include companies in the biopharma, medical device, medical diagnostics, and digital health sectors.

Robb is a supporter of the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation, the only philanthropy solely focused on accelerating the development of drugs to prevent, treat, and cure Alzheimer’s disease, related dementias, and cognitive aging. She is also the co-Founder of the Boston chapter of C-Sweetener, a business mentoring platform dedicated to connecting female leaders on the path to the healthcare C-Suite.

Dr. Charles Taylor is a Senior Advisor at Diversified Search.

Over the past decade, he has successfully completed more than 125 executive search assignments in the academic, corporate, and nonprofit areas. Those assignments have included, among others, university presidents and other senior university officials; public school superintendents; foundation and association executives; chief financial officers; chief information officers; chief legal officers; members of boards of directors; and public officials.

Prior to joining Diversified Search, Dr. Taylor was with The Prout Group, where he served as Managing Director in the Education, Government, and Nonprofit practices. His career spans nearly 30 years in a variety of corporate and academic management positions, including serving as President of Morris Brown College and Wilberforce University, President of BP (British Petroleum) Shipping, Director of Corporate Contributions for the Standard Oil Company, and managing partner and senior partner of two global retained executive search firms.
